T.M. Hands is an American graphic novelist hailing from the Bay Area of California. Her passion for storytelling and imagination began at a young age, inspired by anime and video games such as Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Digimon, Harvest Moon, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. She began to show signs of struggling with reading and writing in first grade, leading to a dyslexia diagnosis. However, T.M. Hands' love for comic books and video games encouraged her to become a stronger reader and writer, prompting her to write her own stories inspired by her favorite anime and video games at the age of thirteen.
After graduating from Delta College in Stockton, CA, with an AA in graphic design, T.M. Hands went to veterinary school to become a veterinary technician, working with animal shelters and local veterinary practices. Despite her love for animals, she never lost sight of her passion for writing comic books and even named shelter animals after her favorite manga characters. At the age of sixteen, T.M. Hands began writing her first comic, which she later named Angel Protected. She not only created the comic but also wrote, drew, and inked the work herself. Although she still struggles with dyslexia from time to time, she remains committed to her craft and even edits her own work.
In 2020, T.M. Hands launched her website, AngelProtected.com, and republished her comic book as a graphic novel – Angel Protected Volume 1. Her dedication to her craft and love for storytelling serve as an inspiration to many aspiring writers and artists. Today, T.M. Hands is a proud mother of two teenagers and continues to work on Volume 2 of Angel Protected, hoping to inspire the world with her imagination and storytelling skills for years to come.
